Don’t be such a dick, Asshole!

My biggest pet peeve in all the world is mean people. Whether it’s blatant and in your face mean (i.e. Baby Daddy changing meeting times and places intentionally to make me miss another engagement) or the more passive-aggressive type of mean (i.e. Boss Lady sending the following text: “oh, so sorry you’re sick, I will rearrange my whole schedule to cover for you,”) Mean people suck.

But… but… you’re the mean lady who tells people to fuck off at the tip of the hat. Kind of, but it’s usually because those people are being mean. A comment left on a previous post of mine really inspired me tonight. What if we all just told others how we felt about them? So long as we can make a convincing argument as to why their behavior is offensive, perhaps it would do the world some good if we told each other about it.

If that doesn’t work, there’s always Plan B:

  1. I totally agree!! Being of a venerable age now, I have no hesitation in telling people what I really think about their behaviour!! Although I am loving plan b! Me, I want a lipstick taser!!!!!

  2. There’s a saying I like regarding to age and bravery and spitting out anything that comes to mind- “I’ve reached that age where my brain went from “You probably shouldn’t say that” to “What the hell, lets see what happens” “… I honour people who spit it out instead of falling over themselves trying to be “nice”…Did no one any good. The less two-faced people there are in the world, the better… So thanks for keeping the flag flying for the blatant and the “vulgar” (as the dull people with blushing cheeks would say while scrambling to get away from whatever satanic has taken over us and made us use the words “fuck”, “dick” etc etc)

Another point I should probably make: I do have the capability of being nice when I have to. Part of the joy of the anonymous blog is that I just plain don’t have to here. Therefore, my use of “fuck you shithead dick” is probably slightly exaggerated (but only slightly).

  3. as one of the world’s chronically uncensored, I’d advise continued caution. the bodies and destruction strewn in the wake if my career and relationships are a testament to the value of thinking before you speak the truth. pragmatically, yes, everyone can benefit from constructive criticism. realistically, about 15% of the adults out there are actually equipped to accept it.
